At Woolly Thinking we believe in providing our customers with the highest quality yarns, accessories and finished woollen goods.

We also believe that we should consider the environmental and ethical aspects of wool and yarn production.

That’s why we have chosen to stock only knitting yarns from sustainable sources and to support small, independent producers, the majority of which are based in the UK. All our suppliers are in some way committed to reducing their environmental impact by, for example, using organic wool or natural dyes, while others are committed to improving the lives of the people who produce the yarn.

Our products include:

•Organic hand-dyed wool from Cornwall and organic undyed wool from Wales

•Organic cotton

•Wool from rare British sheep breeds

•Alpaca yarn from UK-bred alpacas

•Fairly-traded alpaca from the Peruvian Andes

•Wool that is hand-dyed using traditional, natural plant extracts

•Wooden knitting needles from sustainable birch

•Tapestry kits produced in the UK using British wool

•Woollen and alpaca goods made in the UK from British wool and alpaca (for instance, baby blankets and bootees, throws, pashminas, scarves, cushions, socks, ties and tea cosies).
